State-of-the-Art Equipment: We use cutting-edge technology to ensure safe and efficient installation, minimizing risks to the environment and project timeline.
Turnkey Solutions: From survey and engineering to cable lay and burial, we provide comprehensive services that streamline the installation process.
Survey, Route Engineering and Feasibility Studies
Our experienced team conducts detailed marine surveys to assess the seabed conditions, environmental factors, and potential obstacles along the proposed cable route. Our surveys include:
Geophysical Surveys: Assessing the seabed topography and sub-surface geology.
Geotechnical Investigations: Sampling and testing the seabed material to determine suitability for cable installation and burial.
Environmental Assessments: Evaluating potential impacts to marine ecosystems and identifying appropriate mitigation strategies.
We develop custom engineering solutions for your cable installation project, ensuring a safe, secure, and optimized route. This includes:
Route Selection: Identifying the most efficient and safe path for cable installation while minimizing environmental impact.
Cable Protection: Determining necessary measures, such as external protection or burial depth, to protect the cable from external factors
Vessel Mobilization & Logistics
Our team handles all aspects of vessel mobilisation to ensure that the right equipment and skilled personnel are in place for a smooth installation. This includes:
Vessel Selection: Choosing vessels or barges equipped for shallow water and nearshore operations.
Equipment Setup: Ensuring all specialised cable-laying and burial equipment is operational and calibrated.
Crew Coordination: Mobilising experienced crews to manage all stages of the installation
Cable lay operations
Our team handles all aspects of vessel mobilisation to ensure that the right equipment and skilled personnel are in place for a smooth installation. This includes:
Pre-Lay Grapnel Run (PLGR): Clearing the cable route of any debris or obstacles.
Shore-end-pull-in operations: either through a HDD duct or directly onto shore
Cable Laying: Ensuring the cable is laid according to the pre-designed route, with accurate tension control to avoid stress on the cable.
Nearshore burial equipment
ECE has designed and built a dedicated cable burial stinger that allows for simultaneous lay and burial of power cables in sand, clay and peat soil types. The tool mittigates issues associated with vertical injectors and can be used on seabed conditions where tracked equipment cannot be used.
This burial method significantly limits damage to seabed or reefs while ensuring burial depths up to 2.5m and has been used up to a water depth of 12m.
Total solution provider
We can offer the full cable transportation and installation scope, including transpooling operations and temporary cable storage. Besides cable installation related activities, ECE Offshore can also provide the following services:
